The Guggenheim Abu Dhabi will open on 11 December 2026 in spite of ongoing war in the region, the Abu Dhabi department of culture and tourism has announced.
\n\n\n\nThe project was initiated in 2006 following a deal between the city of Abu Dhabi and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation. Though construction started in 2011, the project was delayed several times amid controversy surrounding the builders’ working conditions.
