Organisers have announced that Art Dubai, originally scheduled to take place in mid-April, will now take place from 14–17 May in a revised format, though it will continue to be held at its usual site, Madinat Jumeirah.

The 20th edition of Art Dubai joins one of several events in the Gulf that have been postponed – including ISEA2026 in Dubai and the annual March Meeting in Sharjah – due to the military conflict between the US, Israel and Iran and its impact the region.

In the lead-up to the decision, several international galleries had pulled out of the event and art shipments had largely halted, ArtNews reports.

The organisers describe the revised fair as a ‘more focused and flexible format, bringing together galleries, artists and institutions through a combination of presentations, collaborations and public programming’ and said the decision followed discussions with stakeholders.

More details on the new format and participating galleries are set to be announced in coming weeks.
