Beatriz Milhazes’s special project for the Venice Biennale Arte 2024 is now open at the Applied Arts Pavilion, Sale d’Armi, Arsenale – a collaboration between Victoria and Albert Museum, London and La Biennale di Venezia.
Curated by the Biennale’s artistic director, Adriano Pedrosa, a selection of paintings, works on paper and a landscape-long format tapestry are being exhibited alongside a variety of textiles from different countries and cultures that were references for the creation of the paintings. In her studio in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Beatriz Milhazes discusses her return to Venice following her participation in the Brazilian Pavilion for the 2003 Venice Biennale.
