Christiana Collu has been announced as the new director of Fondazione Querini Stampalia in Venice. She was unanimously appointed by the foundation’s president, Paolo Molesini, and the members of its Board.
An art historian, curator and lecturer with 30 years of experience as a director of museums and cultural institutions, she was previously appointed director of the MAN in Nuoro at the age of twenty-seven. Since then she has had successful tenures at the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Rome and the MART in Trento and Rovereto. She also served on the International Jury of the 58th Biennale di Venezia.
One of the oldest cultural foundations in Italy, the Fondazione Querini Stampalia is home to a library of almost 400,000 modern books, as well as manuscripts, incunabula, sixteenth-century texts, prints, and a photographic collection.
