India Art Fair will launch the first edition of India Art Fair Contemporary in Mumbai from 13 to 16 November 2025. The new platform will showcase the country’s leading artists and designers working today, alongside a focus on practitioners from across South Asia, Africa and South America.
India Art Fair contemporary will present 50 to 70 local and international exhibitors, ranging from galleries to institutions to design studios. In addition to single-gallery presentations, the fair will invite artist-led initiatives, large-scale works and collaborative projects. It builds upon India Art Fair Delhi, which was established in 2008 as a champion of modern and contemporary art across the South Asia region.
The new fair will be led by director of India Art Fair Delhi Jaya Asokan, who continues to lead the New Delhi fair. ‘The appetite for art in India has grown significantly over recent years, and this is the perfect time to launch a bold new fair focusing on the contemporary moment,’ Asokan said in a statement. ‘We have been proud to support many of the city’s arts initiatives for several years now, and we could not be more excited to host our first fair right in the heart of Mumbai.’
