Artist Tania Bruguera was arrested once again in la Havana as she was protesting alongside the Ladies in White, a movement formed by the women from the families of jailed dissidents, the Cuban artist reported herself on the Facebook page of her project #YoTambienExijo, on Monday. Pictures posted on the page show Bruguera’s bruises inflicted during the arrest by the officials, who also confiscated her passport.
In an interview with the PanAm post, Bruguera said she was participating in the protest as part of her research for a bill she is preparing, to ensure rights of free speech and public assembly and to protect protesters against political violence.
