Dehli-based artist, curator, and writer Shuddhabrata Sengupta has been selected as the winner of the Keith Haring Fellowship in Art and Activism. In its second edition, the Haring Fellowship is an annual award that supports a scholar, activist, or artist to teach and conduct research at CCS Bard and the Human Rights Project for a year.
Sengupta is one of the co-founders of Delhi-based collective of media practitioners, documentarists, artists and writers Raqs Media Collective with Monica Narula and Jeebesh Bagchithe, who together set up the Sarai programme at the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies – a platform for discursive and creative collaboration across disciplines reflecting on contemporary urban spaces and cultures in South Asia; Sengupta is also co-founder and contributing editor of the independent radical blog kafila.org.
