Dublin-based artist Jesse Jones will represent Ireland at next year 57th Biennale, The Irish Times reports. Jones is interested in moments of collective resistance and dissent. Working mostly with film and video, she revisits avant-garde revolutionary movements and their cultural manifestations, to propose new forms of collective action and self-representation. Her works have been shown internationally, including in the 11th Istanbul Biennial. Solo exhibitions include Against the Realm of the Absolute at Collective, Edinburgh (2011), Mahogany at Gertrude Contemporary in Melbourne (2010) and The Spectre and the Sphere at Blackwood Gallery in Toronto and Project Arts Centre in Dublin (both 2008).

Jesse Jones: No More Fun and Games is on view at The Hugh Lane, Dublin through 26 June 2016.
