The nine artists shortlisted for the £40,000 2015 biennial Artes Mundi prize have been announced as:

The shortlist was chosen by Washington-based independent curator Adam Budak, and Sabine Schaschl, Director and Curator of Museum Haus Konstruktiv, Zurich. A particular emphasis was given to artists whose work comments on lived experience and the human condition.
An exhibition of works by the shortlisted artists will take place mainly at Wales’s National Museum of Art, in Cardiff, from 24 October 2014 to February 2015. The winner will be announced on 22 January 2015.
