Jean de Loisy has been named curator of the 15th Lyon Biennale, scheduled to open in 2019. De Loisy, who currently helms the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, is bringing with him his team of curators from the institution to work on this edition (including Daria de Beauvais, Adélaïde Blanc, Yoann Gourmel, Katell Jaffrès, Rebecca Lamarche-Vadel, Vittoria Matarrese, Claire Moulène et Hugo Vitrani).
According to Le Petit Bulletin, a local weekly, De Loisy was initially solicited to replace Thierry Raspail as director of both MAC Lyon and the Biennale, after Raspail announced he was stepping down last week, but he declined, preferring to keep his role at the Paris institution.
