Turner Prize-winner Douglas Gordon damaged the walls of the new £25m HOME venue in Manchester, where he is currently directing his play Neck Of The Woods as part of Manchester International Festival, the Manchester Evening News reports. Gordon used a prop axe from the play, then drew a wolf’s paw around it – in reference to the production which is based on the story of ‘Little Red Riding Hood’. According to BBC Radio, Gordon’s axe rampage was triggered by several bad reviews the show has received so far.

Alex Poots, CEO and artistic director of MIF, asked Gordon to pay for the repairs, insisting he did not ‘support or condone reckless, inappropriate or intimidating behaviour’.
