The 12 shortlisted photographers for the seventh Prix Pictet global photography awards are:
Mandy Barker (United Kingdom), Saskia Gronenberg (Germany), Beate Guetschow (Germany), Rinko Kawauchi (Japan), Benny Lam (China), Richard Mosse (Ireland), Sohei Nishino (Japan), Sergey Ponomarev (Russia), Thomas Ruff (Germany), Munem Wasif (Bangladesh) and Michael Wolf (Germany).
Images by all the shortlisted photographers, who are each nominated for work which highlights issues of sustainablilty, and for which this iteration has the title of Space, can be seen online here.
The winner, who receives CHF100,000, (£80,000) will be announced by Kofi Annan at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London on Thursday 4 May 2017, after which an exhibition of all the shortlisted works will tour to venues in New York, Zurich and Stuttgart.
