The seven shortlisted artists for the seventh edition of the Artes Mundi Prize, the UK’s biggest monetary prize, have been announced. The winner of the £40,000 biannual prize will be announced in January 2017, after a four-month exhibition of formative and new works by the shortlisted artists across various venues in Cardiff.
The shortlisted artists are:

Amy Franceschini / Futurefarmers (USA/Belgium)
Lamia Joreige (Lebanon)
Nástio Mosquito (Angola)
Hito Steyerl (Germany/Japan)
Bedwyr Williams (UK)
Previous winners include Xu Bing, Eija-Liisa Ahtila, NS Harsha, Yael Bartana, Teresa Margolles, and most recently, Theaster Gates.
