Dasha Zhukova’s Rem Koolhaas-designed Garage Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow has announced that it will open in June 2015. The Museum will open with the first in a series of Garage Atrium commissions, featuring a large-scale installation by Russian artist Eric Bulatov. On the first floor, five exhibitions will feature Russian and international artists, including a major project by Rirkrit Tiravanija. In September 2015 Garage will present the first retrospective in Moscow of the Louise Bourgeois, in collaboration with Haus der Kunst, Munich.
Founded in 2008 by Dasha Zhukova, the institution is currently based in a temporary pavilion in Gorky Park created by architect Shigeru Ban.
