Sheila Girling, painter and widow of late artist Anthony Caro died at the weekend, aged 90, The Art Newspaper has reported. Girling, who employed a strong use of colour and texture in her work, and who was also an influence on her husband’s work (they shared a studio complex in Camden in London for many years) exhibited in both London and New York and was a regular exhibitor at The Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibitions.
Annely Juda Fine Art, London will be holding a memorial exhibition in September this year.
