Tate has just announced their forthcoming exhibitions for 2017 which will take place across Tate Britain and Modern, and comprise of group shows Soul of a Nation: Art in the Age of Black Power and Red Star Over Russia as well as retrospectives of contemporary artists including David Hockney and Wolfgang Tillmans.
The programme is set to open with Hockney’s exhibition (9 February – 29 May 2017), which will coincide with his 80th birthday and celebrate his career working in painting, drawing, print, photography, video and digital media whilst Tillmans’ show (15 February – 11 June 2017) will focus on his video, digital slide projections, photography, publications, curatorial projects and recorded music. Other exhibitions will include Giacometti, Modilgliani, as well as Rachel Whiteread, Ilya and Emilia Kabakov, and Fahrelnissa Zeid.
