Stefan Kalmár has been appointed director of the Institute of Contemporary Arts, London. He will take up his new post in November 2016. Kalmár has been executive director & curator at Artists Space, New York, since 2008. He has held previous previous roles at Kunstverein München, the Institute of Visual Culture in Cambridge, and Cubitt, London. He was involved in the formation of Common Practice, a group for \nnot-for-profit organisations in New York, which includes Artists Space, \nalongside White Columns, the Kitchen, Triple Canopy, Light Industry, \nParticipant Inc., and Printed Matter. Kalmár succeeds Gregor Muir, who has joined Tate as director of collection, international art.
