Cambodian sculptor and installation artist Svay Sareth has been named Overall Best Emerging Artist at the 2016 edition of the Prudential Eye Awards for Contemporary Asian Art, receiving a US$30,000 (approx. £21,000) cash prize, and an exhibition opportunity at the Saatchi Gallery, London, later this year.
Launched in 2014, the Prudential Eye Awards aim to give recognition to artists from across Asia in early stages of their careers, working across the mediums of installation, digital, painting, photography and sculpture. The winners of each of the five categories received $20,000 (approx. £14,000) and are:

Manish Nai: Painting
Huang Po Chih: Installation
Shumon Ahmed: Photography
The awards ceremony took place at the opening of Art Stage Singapore (21–24 January), and is accompanied by The Prudential Eye Awards Exhibition, at ArtScience Museum, showcasing works by the 15 shortlisted artists for the art awards (on through 27 March).
