Cuban performance artist Tania Bruguera is to install a work at Tate’s Turbine Hall in October 2018, reports The Guardian. Commissioned annually by Hyundai, the Turbine Hall has in recent years hosted works by Superflex (2017), Philippe Parreno (2016) and Abraham Cruzvillegas (2015). Bruguera, who is known for works that address contemporary political concerns, has previously staged performances at Tate Modern including Tatlin’s Whisper #5 (2008) during which two mounted police officers used crowd control techniques to corral visitors in the gallery, last performed in 2016. There are currently no further details regarding Bruguera’s commission.
