Daisuke Tsuda has been selected as the next artistic director for the fifth edition of Aichi Triennale (set to take place in various locations across Nagoya), Art Asia Pacific reports. Tsuda was chosen by a panel of academics including: Tohoku University Graduate School professor Taro Igarashi; Kyoto City University of Arts professor Akiko Kasuya; Tama Art University president Akira Tatehata; the National Museum of Art Osaka chief curator Yasuyuki Nakai; Yamaguchi University professor Fujikawa Satoshi; Nagoya City University professor Mikako Mizuno; and the previous triennial director and Tama Art University professor Chihiro Minato.
Tsuda, a journalist, professor at Waseda University and representing director of Movements for Internet Active Users (an internet activist group), has alluded to his interest in interrogating the power of art and journalism.
