Experimenter Gallery, Kolkata, has announced the list of speakers who will be participating in the 8th edition of the Experimenter Curators’ Hub (ECH). The annual programme of talks (founded in 2009) invites ten international curators to present their work to their peers over a three-day session of talks and debates. Artists, writers, critics, historians, architects, designers are also invited to take part in the ECH and to consider the latest issues and processes in exhibition-making. During this year’s ECH, Experimenter will also reveal details for the Experimenter Learning Program (ELP), which is described as a ‘long-term, sustainable and multifaceted learning and education programme’ that will be supported by workshops, salon-style classrooms, symposia, lecture performances and Experimenter Juniors Program. The ECH will be streamed live to enable global access to the discussions and include an interactive element which will allow audiences to ask questions of the curators in real time.
The speakers, moderated by independent curator Natasha Ginwala, are: Adam Szymczyk ( artistic director, documenta 14); Jeebesh Bagchi (curator, Shanghai Biennale 2016); Shumon Basar (cultural critic and director of Global Art Forum); Erin Gleeson (curator), Prasad Shetty and Rupali Gupte (curators); Kavita Singh (educator); Sabih Ahmed (art historian and researcher, Asia Art Archive), Leuli Eshraghi (curator) and Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung (curator).
Experimenter Curators’ Hub 2018 will take place at Experimenter Gallery, Hindustan Road in Kolkata, India, on 26 – 28 July 2018.
