American artist Jeff Koons is to donate a 34ft high sculpture, depicting a hand holding a bunch of multicoloured balloon tulips, to the city of Paris, to commemorate the November 2015 Paris terrorist attacks, in which 130 people lost their lives, The New York Times reports. Titled Bouquet of Tulips, the work, which will be permanently installed next year in the plaza in front of the Museum of Modern Art and the Palais de Tokyo, is intended to remind of the hand of the Statue of Liberty, which was given by France to the United States. The production and installation costs for the work ($3.8 million) are being raised from private donations.
