Asia Art Archive have announced that John Tain will join the team as head of research, taking over from Hammad Nasar. Tain will begin his new role at AAA in October 2017 following a decade-long career as a curator of the modern and contemporary collections at the Getty Research Institute, Los Angeles. As head of research, he will drive the Archive’s ‘research focus and projects, and expand and sustain partnerships with the local and international arts community’.
AAA also announced the appointment of Özge Ersoy as public programmes lead. Ersoy, who was previously based in Istanbul as programme manager and curator of Collectorspace, joined AAA in August 2017. She has been working with a team to present a series of programmes that engage with the AAA’s collection.
