Ruba Katrib appointed curator at MoMA PS1

Ruba Katrib has been appointed curator at MoMA PS1, the New York institution has announced. Katrib has been curator at SculptureCenter in Long Island City since 2012 where she staged solo exhibitions by Cosima von Bonin, Araya Rasdjarmrearnsook, Jumana Manna, Anthea Hamilton and Michael E. Smith, among others, as well as the Cercle d’Art des Travailleurs de Plantation Congolaise (CATPC). Group shows at the SculptureCenter under her tenure including The Eccentrics (2016), Puddle, pothole, portal (with Camille Henrot, 2014), Better Homes (2013), A Disagreeable Object (2012), Modify, as needed (2011), The Reach of Realism (2009) and The Possibility of an Island (2008). In 2015, she co-organised Visitors, an exhibition of public art on Governors Island, with Tom Eccles. Previously Katrib was associated curator at Museum of Contemporary Art, Miami. She attended CCS Bard, graduating 2007, and in 2003, Katrib cofounded a non-profit artist residency programme in Chicago called ThreeWalls. 

At MoMA PS1 she will work with chief curator Peter Eleey.
