The Russian pavilion at the 57th Venice Biennale will be presented by artists Grisha Bruskin, Sasha Pirogova, together with Recycle Group’s Georgy Kuznetsov and Andrey Blokhin, TASS reports. Semyon Mikhailovsky, the chief curator and commissioner of the Russian pavilion had said they originally wanted to only show works by a younger generation of artists, but that since it wouldn’t have been representative of contemporary Russian art, they invited Grisha Bruskin (whose work had previously been shown as part of the Collateral event, ‘Archaeologist’s Collection’, during the 2015 Venice Biennale) to join the team. While it has been confirmed that Bruskin’s work will take centre stage in the pavilion, further details about the exhibition, including the title, will be announced on 27 January.
