Koki Tanaka’s installation, Provisional Studies: Workshop #7 How to Live Together and Sharing the Unknown, included in Skulptur Projekte Münster 2017, has been damaged by thieves, the Japanese artist announced in an email blast. During the night on 31 July, the thieves broke into a local university building in Johannisstrasse, stealing equipment which was part of Tanaka’s installation. ‘We don’t have a night guard because that would go against the concept,’ said a spokesperson for the decennial exhibition in a statement. ‘We have to live with it. Similar things happened in the last Skulptur Projektes.’ This is the third artwork to be vandalised at this year’s exhibition, following damage to one of Nicole Eisenman’s figures and the theft of parts of Ei Arakawa’s sculptures
