Oslo will launch its first contemporary art biennial in May 2019. This biennial, which will be presented in the public realm, is the result of two years of research, public events and discussion spearheaded by the Norwegian city’s agency for cultural affairs under the title Oslo Pilot. Eva González-Sancho and Per Gunnar Eeg-Tverbakk, the biennial’s curators, assessed the relevance of such a project. They concluded that it should go ahead.
The title, theme and format of the biennial will be announced at a later date.
