Independent Curators International has announced Marian Goodman as the winner of the 2016 Leo Award, Artforum reports. It is the first time that the award named after art dealer Leo Castelli, which credits ‘exceptional contributors to the field of contemporary art’, has been presented to another dealer. Goodman, who founded art publishing company Multiples in 1965, opened Marian Goodman Gallery in 1977, with subsequent galleries in Paris (1997) and London (2014). The New York gallery will be celebrating its 40th anniversary next year.
