Contemporary art dealer Thaddaeus Ropac has confirmed plans to open a new gallery in Mayfair, London, The Art Newspaper reports. News of Ropac finalising his plans has been welcomed by London’s art market following last week’s Brexit vote. The London space will be the newest addition to the existing Paris and Salzburg galleries and will be run by the former senior director of Pace, Polly Robinson Gaer. In a statement, Ropac has said: ‘however bad [the Brexit situation] is, London is the quintessential centre of the art world, I am absolutely committed to it’.
