Eva International, the biennial based in Limerick, Ireland, has announced the artist list for its 38th edition. The exhibition, curated by Inti Guerrero and opening in April, takes Night Candles are Burnt Out, a 1927 painting by Irish artist Seán Keating as its starting point. An allegorical oil work Keating’s painting depicts the reaction to the construction of Ardnacrusha, a hydroelectric dam which precipitated rapid industrialisation, built that same year on the border of County Limerick.
