Digital art organisation Rhizome has been awarded a two-year, $600,000 grant to fund the development ‘Webrecorder’. Built with open-source tools, this free platform will allow users to archive and playback dynamic web content (from embedded videos to social media profiles) while browsing, with the aim of ‘improving digital social memory for all’.

An early version of Webrecorder is available here, where you can already archive content to an anonymous database. To host a public or private archive collection on the site you can request an invitation.
