Inti Guerrero has been appointed as the new artistic director of the non-profit art foundation Bellas Artes Projects, based in Manila and Bataan. Guerrero is taking over from Diana Campbell Betancourt, who will be leaving her role to focus on her activities as artistic director of the Samdani Art Foundation in Bangladesh. He will be spearheading both the artist residency programme, located at Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bagac, Bataan, and the exhibition programme developed at the foundation’s venue in Makati City, Manila.
Based in Hong Kong, Guerrero serves as the Estrellita B. Brodsky Adjunct Curator of Latin American Art for the Tate in London, and is the curator of the 38th EVA International – Ireland’s Biennial in Limerick (closing 8 July). From 2011–14 he was the curator of the non-profit institution TEOR/ética in Costa Rica. He has curated exhibitions internationally, including at the Tate Modern in London, Para Site in Hong Kong, Minsheng Museum in Shanghai, Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in Torino, Museum of Contemporary Art in Manila, Kadist in San Francisco, and CA2M in Madrid. His writings have been published in Afterall, Art Asia Pacific and Manifesta Journal, among others.
