Hong Kong property tycoon Adrian Cheng’s K11 Art Foundation (KAF) has announced a number of new appointments to its staff. May Xue Mei has been appointed Director of Education & Institutional Relations, K11 Art Foundation as well as Assistant General Manager of K11 (Northern China). She was formerly CEO art the Ullens Centre for Contemporary Art, Beijing. Mei is joined by Venus Lau Sau Yee, who has been appointed K11’s Artistic Director and Assistant General Manager of K11 (Southern China). Previously Yee was Artistic Director of OCT Contemporary Art Terminal, Shenzhen, as well as Consulting Curator at Ullens Centre for Contemporary Art, Beijing.
Joining the two directors is Jeannie Wu, appointed as Acting Cultural Manager of the K11 Art Foundation, while Jilly Ding is now Head of Research & Acquisitions at K11 Art Foundation.
These appointments signify a new phase of development and direction for the foundation since its establishment in 2010, which will allow KAF to continue to position itself as a pioneering curatorial platform for cultural exchange between Chinese contemporary artists and their global contemporaries.
