Chicago born artist Amie Siegel’s film, Provenance, 2013, documents, in reverse, the journey of modernist furniture, originally made by Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret for the Indian city of Chandigarh, via the salerooms and auction houses to expensive apartments in Europe and the US.
The project takes a self-reflexive turn this weekend when the film itself will be sold as lot 248 in Christie’s Post-War and Contemporary sale.
