Pivô, the São Paulo artist-run space, has launched its fourth annual fundraising auction. Lots include work by two former ArtReview ‘future greats’, Lucas Simões and Luiza Balden, as well as Marcelo Cidade, Alexandre da Cunha, Paloma Bosquê and Lucia Koch, among others. In addition to the photography, prints and sculptures on offer, Pivô has commissioned a group of artists, including assume vivid astro focus, Erika Verzutti, Lenora de Barros and Adriano Costa, to design abadá, tunics frequently worn and sold at the time of carnival. These outfits will form part of the costumes for a block of artists in the next São Paulo carnival.
Bids are being accepted via the Paddle 8 website from today or in person at the closing sale on 28 November.
