The Icelandic original has partnered up with the Vinyl Factory to launch a new collaborative label, Bel-Air Glamour Records, whose second release – the first one, Kristín Anna (ex-múm)’s Howl, can be purchased here – will be the soundtrack of Kjartansson’s audiovisual installation The Visitors (2012), performed with The All-Star Band. The installation will also receive its London premiere at the Vinyl Factory’s space at Brewer Street Car Park from 11 November through 6 December.
Based on a live musical performance at Rokeby farm, a bohemian estate in upstate New York, the nine channel installation features Kjartansson and some musician friends from the Reykjavík music scene as they perform their own versions of the same song in different rooms of the mansion.
