Eight winners have been announced for The Dorothea & Leo Rabkin Foundation’s 2026 visual arts journalism prize. Awarded annually since 2011, the prize comprises an unrestricted $50,000 cash grant towards each of their pursuits.
The 2026 winners are writer, educator and artist Damien Davis; Melaine Ferdinand-King, writer and inaugural curator of the African American Museum of Rhode Island; Tyler Green, critic and host of The Modern Art Notes Podcast; Alicia Inez Guzmán, critic and investigative journalist; Julia Halperin, critic, investigative data journalist and co-founder of the Burns Halperin Report; Sarah Lewis, professor of African and African American Studies at Harvard University; Jan Tumlir, author and founding editor of X-TRA, a Los Angeles-based contemporary art journal; and journalist and critic Kaelen Wilson-Goldie.
The winners were selected by a jury of three: Irene Borger, Jaime DeSimone and Legacy Russell.
