The Royal Academy of Arts have announced new development plans for its 250th anniversary in 2018, to include linking Burlington House and Burlington Gardens for the first time and which will create new exhibition spaces, a lecture theatre, and learning centre as well as new spaces for the RA Schools which will integrate them more fully into the RA’s other activities.
The project has been designed by architect Sir David Chipperfield CBE RA and is supported by a grant of £12.7 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) alongside generous support from a number of private individuals.
