Cecilia Alemani has been appointed as curator of the 2027 Taipei Biennial, the Taipei Fine Arts Museum (TFAM) has announced.
Born in Milan and based in New York, Alemani is currently the director and chief curator of the public arts programme High Line Art. She has also curated numerous largescale exhibitions and biennials, including the 59th Venice Biennale, 2022, and the 12th SITE Santa Fe International, 2025.
‘In our current global climate, platforms like the Taipei Biennial carry an even greater urgency,’ said Alemani in a statement. ‘They are vital spaces for creative expression and cultural resilience: they remind us of the power of art to foster dialogue and discussion at a critical historical crossroads.’
