The 2027 Sharjah Biennial, curated by Angela Harutyunyan and Paula Nascimento, will be titled What remains, sits restive, the Sharjah Art Foundation has announced.
The exhibition will consider how our present is ‘troubled by what remains of unlived pasts’ through the separate approaches of each curator.
Harutyunyan’s section will trace the afterlives of socialist modernity through the work of 55 participants:
