Alice Motard, currently curator at Spike Island in Bristol, has been appointed as chief curator of the CAPC musée d’art contemporain de Bordeaux. She will be taking over her new role this March after completing her two current solo exhibition projects at Spike Island: Michael Beutler (Spring 2016) and Xavier Antin (Summer 2016).
Motard studied Art History at the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, Freie Universität Berlin, as well as at the Royal College of Art in London where she obtained an MA in Curating Contemporary Art. She previously worked in the educational departments of Palais de Tokyo and Frac Île-de-France/Le Plateau in Paris and in 2008 became deputy director and exhibitions organiser at Raven Row in London. During her two-year tenure at Spike Island, she curated an offsite project by Gareth Moore and solo exhibitions including Anna Franceschini, Isabelle Cornaro and Reto Pulfer.
