Khoj International Artists’ Association, based in New Delhi, is about to close applications for the inaugural edition of the Artists for Artists Grant (supported by artists Subodh Gupta and Bharti Kher, as well as founding and current board members of Khoj). The grant will be awarded to an Indian artist up to the age of 35, who is living and working in the country. The artist may work in any medium. The grant focuses on supporting artists ‘in their individual attempts to realise an ongoing body of work’ and will offer INR200,000 (before taxes) to help with production costs of the artwork.
Khoj has expressed: ‘While we do not have a specific theme or criteria, we are looking for ambitious ideas that can engage and challenge artistic practice in the contemporary context on a variety of levels whether aesthetic, intellectual or political. The proposal must be an ongoing project in the early phase of development and its production time frame should not exceed 10 months post the grant.
The grant will culminate with an exhibition of the project at Khoj.
