Chinese and Australian artists have been invited to apply for the Red Gate Residency exchange with the Bundanon Trust, which will take place in Beijing (four weeks during May 2019) and New South Wales (from 23 November to 21 December 2018), respectively.
One artist from each country will be selected to join the Red Gate Residency and Bundanon’s Artist-in-Residence programme which is open to ‘professional artists and thinkers from all disciplines, individually or in groups’. The artists will work alongside other international practitioners at live/work studios based in Feijiacun Village (north Beijing) and Bundanon’s own purpose-built studios at their Shoalhaven River properties on the south coast of New South Wales.
Red Gate Residency was set up by Red Gate Gallery to provide artists, curators, writers, and academics with the opportunity to live and create work in China. They accommodate around 40 artists every year. The Bundanon Trust was established in 1993 and supports engagement with the arts through its residency, education, performance and exhibitions programme. Each year, around 300 artists benefit from Bundanon’s Artist-in-Residence programme.
